Jewelry Organiser

Jewelry Organiser: Dream vs Reality

Today I am sharing my dream and the reality of my current jewelry organisers. Some of these are my life hacks. I hope you get a tip or two.

If I had access and space, this would be my dream jewelry organiser. Even bigger.

One of the reasons I would like that dream jewelry organiser is because I store my jewelry in various places, in various ways.

This is my reality.

Small Jewelry Container

These containers are very handy, especially when you don’t have a lot of jewelry and you don’t have a lot of space. In my case it holds some hair flowers, a bracelet, a few jewelry pieces.

African Beaded Jewelry Basket

These African beaded baskets are cozy looking and cute for decoration. They can hold quite a bit of jewelry. The only problem is there is no way of organising the inside. No compartments. I just throw jewelry in there. Most of the time I use it for my everyday jewelry, like the earrings that wear in the house. Quick reach jewelry. It’s always on the top of the dresser, so, it functions as a decorative piece.

Statue Jewelry Stand

The other method is statues like this African lady. As you can see, it’s quite decorative for the surface. I use it for the watch and my ring that I use often. Right now, it has a bracelet around it so you can also use it to hang other jewelry. Sometimes I put my small hair ties on it. There’re various decorative options of stands out there.

Reversible Jeans & Fabric Jewelry Basket

I also use these jeans and fabric DIY baskets. They are reversible and
Interchangeable. They can hold quite a bit of jewelry, especially the bigger pieces like the necklaces and my spectacle case. All the same, you cannot split in between but it’s quite handy and quite
decorative for the dresser.

Drawer Jewelry Trays

Like me, you can use trays and containers inside drawers. In my case, I’ve used this space for my knick knacks like my spectacles, for my sunglasses, my hair ties and flowers. You can see my Alice bands, floral hair ties and my fabric headbands. You could do the same with your earrings or your necklaces and organize them in here. The only problem is that the chains and necklaces might tangle.

Bag Pockets Jewelry Holder

This is my favorite because I can store all my earrings in one place. I can categorize them, and they are very accessible. As I can see them easily, sometimes I search with colour as I pick what I need for the
day. It also doesn’t take much space in the closet. You can also choose to hang on the wall as part of your décor.

One of the things to note is sometimes, they come with hangers but sometimes they don’t. When that happens, I use shower curtain rings to hold them up

Tie Rack Jewelry Holder

This is my final method for my necklaces and chains. When I bought them, I had my specific plan on how to use these tie racks. They are off course marketed as tie racks, but I chose to use them to hold my necklaces and my chains.

I love them. As they rotate, I can see all my necklaces as I need. They also don’t take much space. At the same time, my chains and necklaces do not tangle. I imagine many of you have had that fight with yours. I can pick or inspect them individually and can go as long or as short as they need. When am undecided on what to wear, it’s good to see all of them to help in my decision.

In DIY, like for the tie racks, you use what’s available, innovate, reinvent and reuse off course.

Maybe one day I’ll get my dream organiser but right now I am happy with
my reality.
